Schroedinger, Erwin

Winner of the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in quantum mechanics and in particular wave mechanics, the second formulation of quantum theory, the first being matrix mechanics due to Heisenberg. He is also famous for the thought experiment known as "Schroedinger's Cat."
