Posthumans are the next phase of human evolution, possibly persons of unprecedented physical, intellectual, and psychological ability, self-programming and self-defining, and potentially immortal. Posthumans strive to overcome the biological, neurological, and psychological constraints evolved into humans. Some of the technologies currently expected to play a role in posthumanity include genetic engineering, neural-computer integration, molecular nanotechnology, and cognitive science.
