Kurzweil Music Systems
Company founded by Raymond Kurzweil after discussions with Stevie Wonder led to the pursuit of digitally recreating acoustic sounds with flexible computer control methods. This resulted in the creation of the Kurzweil 250 Digital Synthesizer. The K250 is considered to be the first electronic musical instrument to successfully emulate the complex sound response of a grand piano and virtually all other orchestral instruments. Kurzweil Music Systems was sold to Young Chang in 1990.
