Philip K. Dick wrote more than 40 novels and a large number of short stories. He was one of the most praised American SF writers during his lifetime. His book "The Man in the High Castle" won a Hugo award 1963 for best science fiction novel of the year. "Blade Runner" and "Total Recall" are films that were adapted from his stories.
