The Acceleration of History
by: Former Editor of Scientific American
? Piel ; circa 1970

Lost the book which I believe is out of print.
Premise: Darwin created the acceleration meme.

The _progress_mem_ has arrived first. Several hundred years ago, when it became obvious, that things do go to the better - after all.

The _acceleration_ (of progress) mem has arrived only in the last century.

But still, we have a lot of people (radical (?) greens) who don't see any progress at all.

Quite a number of people do see accelerated progress.

Its logical consequence - the Singularity - is still unknown to most people.

Do we want that people like the Pope and other religious leaders realize that?

Will they "attack", when they understand what is going on?
